According to Lifestory Research’s “America’s Most Trusted™” Study for 2016, Trane was ranked as the most trusted brand of heating and air conditioning equipment. This study, which was based on the opinions of 17,878 consumers, was designed to track how trust impacts people’s opinions of HVAC brands and other consumer products in the U.S.
In response to this study, the president of Lifestory Research, Eric Snider, remarked that when consumers purchase a product, they are focused on finding a brand they trust. He also stated that the need for trust greatly impacts consumer purchasing decisions, and that companies like Trane seem to understand that their clients need to trust them.
Besides just HVAC equipment, many other brands hold the “Most Trusted” designation from Lifestory Research, including brands that produce faucets, electric utilities, cabinets, and other products that are used within a consumer’s home. To rank a brand’s trust level, brands are divided into three categories based on a Net Trust Quotient Score. Trane earned the highest Net Trust Quotient Score for HVAC brands, beating out others like Carrier, Whirlpool, Lennox, Rheem, and York.
